Mosaic announced today that it has acquired Contend, a privately owned, data-driven premium content company based in Los Angeles.
Contend’s suite of services further diversifies and strengthens Mosaic’s current offering, providing clients with access to proprietary data, world-class creative, full-service production and omni-channel distribution.
“With Contend as the content arm of Mosaic, we now offer our clients an alternative to the traditional, inefficient way of creating and distributing video content that is required by marketers 24/7,” says Kevin George, President and CMO, Mosaic. “The ability to efficiently create, produce, warehouse and deploy high quality video content for brands, with sales as the ultimate success factor is what today's brands are seeking.”
This new venture presents Contend with access to an expanded suite of proprietary shopper data services, increased creative and execution capabilities including experiential and retail marketing, sales and merchandising, package design, branding, digital marketing, media distribution and social amplification.
"We started Contend to create content with an endgame. We've already brought this promise to life with many of Mosaic's world-class brands like Bud Light, Stub Hub and Microsoft. And we're just getting started," says Steven Amato, Founder and President of Contend. "Contend's proprietary story-intelligence tools, combined with Mosaic's executions and Acosta's robust shopper data tools, give us the ability to create a truly powerful position in the market.”
A core area of focus for Mosaic and Contend will be building out “Contender,” a proprietary content intelligence tool that maps and understands audiences and the stories that inspire and engage them. Contend is also developing next generation digital warehousing services that will greatly improve the efficiency and time to market for branded content.
“Content is the future of digital, and we are excited that Steven and team will be expanding our Mosaic Content offering as he takes over leadership for all Mosaic digital and content strategy," adds George. Contend will maintain its headquarters in Los Angeles, and will add new offices in Chicago, New York, Dallas, Toronto and Seattle.
