Strideforpride

I had no idea how boring my typical Sunday nights were until I ventured into Toronto’s Gaybourhood this past Sunday to check out Stride for Pride: The Search for the Ridiculously Long Lasting Drag Queen. Stride gum sponsored the competition which took place at Woody’s to celebrate the launch of Stride’s new flavour, Uber Bubble. In addition to the adoration of hundreds of Woody’s patrons, Miss Stride 2009 (above) walked away with $1000 cash, the opportunity to flaunt her stuff atop atop the fabulous Stride Gum Uber Bubble float during Pride Parade, and an uber fierce Farley Chatto outfit. As a newcomer to the drag show scene, I have to admit I was uber entertained. The bar was so decked out in pink balloons, lighting and decorations that it made you feel like you were inside a big, pink Stride Uber Bubble bubble. And the performances were as impressive as the décor; all the queens and their cute, scantily clad back up dancers had dance moves that would rival vintage Britney. I can’t wait to see Miss Stride bust out those fabulous dance moves on the Stride Gum Uber Bubble float this weekend! Check it out live, online, or on TV.
